Natland is a small village and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, lying a couple of miles south‑east of Kendal. Set just above the valley of the River Kent on the fringes of the Lake District National Park, it enjoys open views to the surrounding fells and easy access to countryside footpaths and bridleways.
The settlement has a long history visible in stone houses and an old parish church, and its economy remains largely rural with farms, small businesses and many residents who commute into Kendal. Community life is lively for a village of its size, centred on a village hall, school and local clubs, and it attracts walkers and visitors looking for a quieter base close to Lakeland attractions.
