Aspull is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, in Greater Manchester and historically part of Lancashire. It sits a few miles north of Wigan on the edge of the West Pennine Moors, giving the village a mix of semi‑rural character and easy access to nearby towns.
Historically dominated by coal mining and its attendant terraces and tramways, Aspull still bears visible reminders of that industrial past, but today functions largely as a commuter and local service village with green spaces and community clubs. The locality benefits from nearby country parks and open moorland, short journeys into Manchester and Bolton, and a strong village community with pubs, churches and volunteer groups keeping local life active.
