Britford is a small village and civil parish in Wiltshire, lying immediately south‑east of Salisbury on the valley of the River Avon. The route of the A338 and a historic river crossing give the parish an obvious connection to the city, while the surrounding landscape steps up towards the chalk downs and out onto Salisbury Plain.
Its character is quietly rural, with riverside meadows, farmland and a compact village core; many residents commute into Salisbury but local life still revolves around the church and village hall. There are several historic buildings and features that hint at a long past, and the area’s combination of river scenery and proximity to the city makes it an attractive, understated part of the county.
