Whiteparish is a compact village and civil parish in south Wiltshire, lying on chalk downland close to the Hampshire border and within easy reach of Salisbury and the New Forest. Its name is traditionally thought to come from a whitewashed church; the village has a mix of older flint and brick cottages, lanes that open onto farmland, and the wooded hollows typical of this part of the county.
Historically agricultural, Whiteparish now combines farming with a sizeable commuter population and a lively local community centred on a village hall, church activities and a pub, while nearby towns such as Southampton and Salisbury provide wider services and employment. The parish is known for its quiet rural character and regular community events rather than any large-scale industry.
