Finn is a ward in the Derry City and Strabane district of Northern Ireland, named for the nearby River Finn. It covers a largely rural swathe of countryside and small villages to the south‑west of Strabane, with rolling farmland, river valleys and hedgerow landscapes that reflect its agricultural roots and scenic, low‑lying topography where the local rivers feed into the Foyle system.
The area’s economy remains mixed - small farms and local businesses dominate, with many people commuting to Strabane or Derry for work - while community life is strong, centred on parish halls, Gaelic Athletic Association clubs and local events. Its borderland location and historic ties to agriculture and cross‑border networks have shaped a resilient social fabric; remnants of industrial and conflict history are present but the ward today emphasises community renewal and rural traditions.
