Cove Bay is a coastal suburb on the southern edge of Aberdeen City in Scotland, sitting where a small, sheltered harbour meets the North Sea. The shoreline is a mix of rocky and pebbled beaches with coastal paths and cliffs that give good views out to sea, making it popular for dog-walks, birdwatching and short coastal strolls.
Originally a modest fishing village, Cove Bay has become largely residential and a commuter community for Aberdeen, especially since the growth of the energy sector. There’s a strong local identity - a handful of shops, a primary school and community groups - and recent harbour and streetscape improvements have aimed to balance conservation of the village character with modest regeneration and new housing.
