Isle of Ewe is a small, privately owned island tucked into Loch Ewe off the coast of Wester Ross in the Highland council area of Scotland. It’s low and largely wooded, its name thought to come from the Gaelic for yew, and it sits sheltered in a sea loch that gives fine views across quiet water and rocky shoreline; access is by private boat from nearby Poolewe or Aultbea.

Historically the loch itself is notable as a wartime anchorage for Arctic convoys, and the island has long been used for grazing and small-scale crofting. Today it feels like a peaceful retreat - small-scale tourism, wildlife interest and its connections with the local coastal communities form the main social and economic threads rather than any large industry.
