Steòrnabhagh a Deas

Steòrnabhagh a Deas sits on the southern side of Stornoway, the principal town on the Isle of Lewis within Na h-Eileanan Siar. The area includes parts of the town centre, the waterfront around Stornoway Harbour and nearby residential and industrial zones, with Lews Castle and its grounds not far to the north; the harbour and service sector dominate the local economy alongside fishing, light industry and links to the islands’ ferry and air connections via Stornoway Airport.

Locally there’s a strong Gaelic-speaking community and a lively cultural life centred on venues such as An Lanntair, with traditional music, Hebridean arts and tweed heritage all visible in everyday life.
