Llanarth is a small rural village in Ceredigion, west Wales, set amid rolling farmland a few miles inland from the Cardigan Bay coast and within easy reach of coastal towns such as Cardigan and Aberaeron. The surrounding landscape of hedgerows, quiet lanes and nearby coastal paths makes it popular with walkers and birdwatchers, and gives a strong sense of the west Wales countryside.
Historically centred on agriculture, the local economy remains largely farming‑based with dairy and sheep farms, supplemented by holiday accommodation and small‑scale tourism; socially there is a close‑knit, often Welsh‑speaking community with village halls and chapels hosting local events and traditional cultural activities. Many of the buildings are simple historic farmhouses and chapels, reflecting the area’s rural heritage rather than large urban development.
