New Quay is a small coastal town in Ceredigion, Wales, sitting on the sheltered waters of Cardigan Bay. Historically it grew from a busy 18th–19th century fishing and shipbuilding port into a Victorian seaside resort; today a compact harbour, sandy coves and nearby cliff paths speak to both its maritime past and its appeal for walkers and swimmers.
The town is well known for wildlife-watching - Cardigan Bay hosts a resident population of bottlenose dolphins and New Quay is a popular base for shore- and boat-based trips - and for a lively local arts and visitor scene of galleries, cafés and holiday accommodation, making it a quietly thriving community with a strong coastal character.
