Leeswood is a small village in Flintshire in north-east Wales, a few miles from the market town of Mold and within easy reach of Wrexham. It sits in a rural landscape of fields and small woodlands and is part of the local community area often referred to as Leeswood and Pontblyddyn.
Historically the village was shaped by mining and lime-working, and you can still see the influence of that industrial past in old quarries and rows of former miners’ cottages. A notable local feature is Leeswood Hall and its famous 18th-century ornamental wrought-iron gates, reflecting the village’s Georgian connections; today Leeswood combines agricultural and commuter life with a modest village centre and active local groups.
