Mold is the county town of Flintshire in north‑east Wales, set near the foothills of the Clwydian Range with the River Alyn running close by. It remains a compact market town with a historic square, regular markets and a strong local community atmosphere.
Locally famous for the spectacular Bronze Age Mold Gold Cape discovered in the 19th century (now in the British Museum), the town also hosts Theatr Clwyd, a major regional arts venue. The economy blends retail, light industry and public services, with many people commuting to nearby centres such as Chester, and Welsh language and traditions still visible in community life.
