Queensferry is a small town on the southern edge of the mouth of the River Dee, in Flintshire, Wales, forming part of the broader Deeside conurbation. It sits close to industrial neighbours such as Shotton and Connah's Quay and serves both as a local centre and a commuter base for nearby centres like Chester and Wrexham.
The town grew up around a historic ferry crossing and its name reflects that riverside role; later the area expanded with 19th–20th century industry, notably steel and manufacturing on Deeside. Today Queensferry combines a working‑class industrial heritage with stretches of estuary and salt marsh that attract birdlife, giving the place a mix of community, history and accessible natural interest.
