Rhosesmor is a small village in Flintshire, Wales, perched on the lower slopes of Halkyn Mountain and just to the west of the Clwydian Range AONB, a few miles from the market town of Mold. Its upland setting gives easy access to moorland walks, limestone outcrops and views across North Wales, making it popular with walkers and those wanting a quieter rural base.
The village has a strong industrial past in lead and zinc mining, with visible remains of old workings and the imprint of that heritage on the landscape; today the local economy is largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns. Community life is quietly centred on local events and the surrounding countryside, where the combination of archaeological traces and industrial archaeology makes the area of interest to both history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts.
