Pantymwyn is a small village in Flintshire, Wales, sitting on the edge of the rolling countryside and offering good access to the Clwydian hills. The surrounding limestone country gives the area a distinctive rocky character and good walking country, with long views across the Dee valley and nearby market towns such as Mold.
Historically the village grew around lead mining and limestone quarrying, and traces of that industrial past still attract people interested in local geology and industrial archaeology. Today Pantymwyn is largely residential with a strong community spirit, a few local amenities and many residents who commute to larger towns; its quiet lanes and old workings make it popular with walkers and those wanting a rural base not far from urban centres.
