Gwalchmai is a small, traditionally Welsh-speaking village on the central part of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales. The name comes from the legendary figure Gwalchmai, linked in Welsh tradition to the Arthurian Gawain, and the settlement sits amid the island’s rolling farmland and close enough to dramatic coastline and prehistoric sites to feel distinctly rural and historic.
Life in Gwalchmai is centred on farming, small local businesses and community institutions such as the chapel, pub and village hall; social life remains strongly bilingual and community-led with regular events and a quiet, scenic character that typifies much of Anglesey.
