Llanfoist is a village in Monmouthshire, Wales, sitting on the western bank of the River Usk just south of Abergavenny and beneath the distinctive slopes of the Blorenge. Its riverside setting and proximity to the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park make it popular with walkers, cyclists and anglers.
The village expanded in the 19th century with nearby industrial and transport developments and today mixes Victorian housing with newer homes, serving partly as a commuter settlement for Abergavenny while retaining local shops, community groups and pleasant green spaces. Historic connections across the Usk valley and easy access to outdoor recreation and regional markets shape Llanfoist’s character and local economy.
