Raglan is a small village set in rolling countryside in Monmouthshire, Wales, just off the A40 between Abergavenny and Monmouth. It has a compact centre with a village green, a couple of traditional pubs and small shops, giving it a distinctly rural but well‑connected feel.
The village is best known for Raglan Castle, a dramatic late‑medieval ruin dating from the 15th century that was partly slighted after the Civil War and now draws visitors and local events. The local economy mixes agriculture and tourism with many residents working in nearby towns, and community life revolves around village clubs, seasonal markets and the kinds of small‑scale heritage activities common to the area.
