Goodwick is a compact coastal ward on the western edge of Pembrokeshire in Wales, sitting beside the sheltered waters of Fishguard Bay and looking out over St George's Channel. The small seafront and harbour, with its distinctive breakwater, give wide sea views and easy access to the Pembrokeshire coastline; the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast National Park means attractive walking and wildlife opportunities close at hand.
The area grew up around the early 20th-century harbour and remains shaped by maritime life: ferry services to Ireland, fishing, an RNLI lifeboat presence and a modest tourist trade all contribute to the local economy. There’s a strong local community feel, aided by the reopened rail connection at Fishguard & Goodwick and a compact town centre of cafés, shops and maritime heritage that links to the historic stories of the neighbouring Fishguard shore.
