The village and surrounding parish of Maenclochog sits on the western flanks of the Preseli Hills in north Pembrokeshire, Wales. It occupies upland moor and pasture with scattered farms and offers sweeping views; the local landscape is dotted with prehistoric features and outcrops, and places such as Carn Menyn in the Preselis are often discussed in connection with the bluestones used at Stonehenge.
Historically the community was shaped by small-scale slate quarrying and a short-lived 19th-century railway, and today the local economy leans on sheep farming, small businesses and rural tourism, with walkers and history enthusiasts among the visitors. Socially it remains a close-knit, predominantly Welsh-speaking area with active village halls and societies that keep traditional music, language and community events alive.
