Kerry is a small village and community in Powys, Wales, historically part of Montgomeryshire. It sits on the rolling slopes of the Kerry Hills on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains, a few miles north of Newtown, and has the compact feel of a traditional Mid Wales settlement with lanes, farms and hedged fields.
Life in Kerry remains rooted in agriculture - hill and sheep farming dominates the local economy and the area is associated with the native Kerry Hill sheep - while walkers and cyclists are attracted by the ridgeways, viewpoints and quieter lanes. The village has a long history with medieval and rural heritage visible in the layout and buildings, and a close-knit community centered on the village hall, pub and local events.
