Bingley Rural is the largely rural ward to the north and west of Bingley in the metropolitan district of Bradford, made up of sandstone villages and farmland. It includes villages such as Harden, Wilsden and Cullingworth, sitting on the edge of the Pennine foothills with sweeping moorland, dry stone walls and easy access to walking routes across the Pennines and the Airedale corridor.
The area mixes a strong local community feel with a commuter economy - many residents travel into Bradford and Leeds - while traces of the textile era remain in converted mills and stone cottages. The landscape and waterways, notably the nearby Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the valley scenery of Airedale, make it popular with walkers and people seeking a countryside base not far from the region’s towns.
