Cullingworth is a stone-built village in the metropolitan district of Bradford, in West Yorkshire, sitting on the edge of the South Pennines amid moorland and rolling farmland. Its elevated position gives long views over the surrounding valleys and makes it popular with walkers; the landscape and network of footpaths around the village feel distinctly rural despite relatively close road links to larger towns.
Historically the settlement grew from farming and local quarrying and took on some textile-related industry in the 18th–19th centuries, leaving a mix of terraces and former mill buildings. Today Cullingworth largely functions as a commuter and local service community with shops, pubs, a primary school and active community groups, while retaining a strong village identity and regular local events.
