Ashley Green is a small village set on the scarp of the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire, not far from market towns such as Chesham and Tring. The landscape is characteristically Chiltern – rolling beech woodland, chalky soils and open commons – and much of the area falls within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, giving the village a distinctly rural, scenic feel despite its reasonable commuting distance to London.
Locally the village combines a long rural history with a lively community atmosphere: there are traditional cottages and farmed land alongside more modern homes, and a strong sense of village life centred on the green, village hall and recreational clubs. Economically it leans on a mix of agriculture, small local enterprises and residents who commute to nearby towns or the capital, while conservation and community events help preserve its historic character.
