Brill is a small hilltop village in the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire, England. Perched on a chalk ridge it offers wide views across the surrounding countryside and is best known for the well‑preserved Brill Windmill, a historic post mill, and for the remains and stories of the old Brill Tramway which served the area until the 1930s. The settlement has medieval roots and the hilltop setting gives a strong sense of history in the landscape.
Today Brill is a compact rural community of cottages, a parish church and village pubs, popular with walkers and visitors exploring the Chilterns. Its local economy mixes farming, small‑scale tourism and commuting to nearby towns, and the village retains a lively community spirit around annual events and its historic buildings despite its modest size.
