Dinton is a compact village in Buckinghamshire, about four miles south‑east of Aylesbury and close to the Oxfordshire border. Set in rolling countryside on the edge of the Chiltern Hills and drained by small tributaries of the River Thame, the settlement retains a historic core of stone and timber‑framed cottages and lanes.
Historically an agricultural parish centered on the estate at Dinton Hall, the village is also noted for the romantic ruin of Dinton Castle, a 19th‑century folly in parkland. Today Dinton is largely residential with farms and small businesses, a village community with periodic local events, while many residents commute to nearby towns and to London.
