The village and civil parish of Gerrards Cross lies in Buckinghamshire, England, on the edge of the chalk escarpments of the Chiltern Hills. Named after the Gerard family, it expanded from a small crossroads into a prosperous commuter settlement characterised by attractive Victorian and Edwardian homes and a compact, well-kept high street.
Today Gerrards Cross is best known for its strong links to London - regular rail services and good road connections make it popular with commuters - and for relatively high property values, good schools and a lively mix of independent shops, cafés and local services. Pleasant green spaces nearby and an active community life give it a suburban yet semi-rural character.
