Marsh Gibbon is a small village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, close to the border with Oxfordshire. It lies on the edge of the Chilterns and beside the valley of the River Thame, with marshy meadows, hedgerows and farmland that make it a pleasant spot for walkers and those seeking rural tranquillity while still being within easy reach of larger towns.
The village has medieval roots - its name is thought to combine the marshy character of the land with a medieval family name - and retains a strong community centred on a church, a village hall and a pub alongside small farms and local businesses. Many residents commute to nearby centres such as Aylesbury and Bicester, but local events and agricultural traditions keep the place firmly connected to the countryside.
