Ambrosden is a compact village and civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, England, lying just south of the market town of Bicester and within easy reach of Oxford. Historically it grew around a manor and parkland and still has a strong rural character, with a medieval parish church, traditional cottages and lanes set against farmland and remnants of eighteenth‑century estate landscaping.
Today the village mixes village life - a pub, primary school and active community groups - with the reality of commuting: good road and rail links via nearby Bicester and the M40 corridor mean many residents travel to Oxford or London for work, while local agriculture and small businesses keep a quieter, local economy. Ambrosden’s proximity to larger centres gives it a blend of historic charm and modern convenience.
