The market town of Winslow in Buckinghamshire sits on the rolling chalk countryside of north Buckinghamshire, about midway between Aylesbury and Buckingham and within commuting distance of Milton Keynes and London. It has a compact market square and a High Street of period buildings that reflect its origins as a small market and coaching centre.
Historically the town grew around its medieval market and country houses such as Winslow Hall, and the old parish church hints at a much older settlement; the historic Oxford–Cambridge Varsity Line once served the area and proposed East West Rail could reinstate rail links. Today the local economy is a mix of surrounding agriculture, independent shops, small businesses and commuters, while an active community calendar, regular markets and village clubs keep social life lively.
