Lode is a small village in the district of East Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire, England, lying roughly 7–8 miles (11–13 km) east‑north‑east of Cambridge. It forms part of the Bottisham and Lode locality and remains a compact, largely residential and agricultural community on the edge of the Fens.
Geographically the village is typical fenland country and takes its name from the man‑made "lodes" or drainage channels that shaped the landscape; it sits close to the important wetland reserve Wicken Fen, making it popular with birdwatchers and walkers. The local economy is still rooted in farming, with many people commuting to nearby centres, and the area retains historic traces of fen drainage and milling, giving Lode a quiet, village character and an engaged local community.
