Soham is a small town in East Cambridgeshire, in the county of Cambridgeshire in eastern England. Nestled on the edge of the Fens between Ely and Cambridge, it occupies drained farmland and waterways and has a compact centre with a parish church, local shops and some light industry; many residents commute to the larger towns and cities nearby.
With ancient Saxon roots and a medieval church, Soham has long agricultural connections and saw further growth in the 20th century, including a wartime airfield nearby. The town attracted national attention after a tragic criminal case in 2003, but today remains a close-knit community with active clubs, schools and regular local events.
