Great Gransden is a small rural village in the historic district of Huntingdonshire, in Cambridgeshire, England, lying roughly ten miles west of Cambridge and a few miles from St Neots. The surrounding landscape is typical lowland countryside of arable fields, hedgerows and small woodlands, giving it a distinctly agricultural character and plenty of pleasant walking country.
The village has a long history dating back to the medieval period, visible in its parish church and several traditional cottages and farmhouses, and it retains community staples such as a village hall, pub and local clubs. Agriculture still plays a part in the local economy, but many residents commute to nearby towns and the Cambridge area, so social life blends a preserved rural feel with links to the wider regional economy.
