Cambourne is a planned settlement in South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire, England, created from the early 1990s on former arable land close to the older village of Bourn. It is laid out in distinct neighbourhoods - Great Cambourne, Lower Cambourne and Upper Cambourne - and was designed to provide new housing for the expanding Cambridge area.
Today Cambourne functions largely as a commuter community with easy links to Cambridge and the regional economy, but it also boasts lakes, green corridors and a local nature focus that give it a semi-rural feel. The village has schools including Cambourne Village College, shops, sports facilities and active community groups, and its population is characterised by many young families and a lively programme of local events.
