Bar Hill is a planned village and electoral ward in South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire, England, situated about six miles north‑west of Cambridge close to the A14. It was developed from the late 1960s on former farmland as part of Cambridge overspill, so its streets and housing have a distinctly modern, suburban layout compared with older nearby villages.
Today the ward is home to a few thousand people, a compact shopping parade and small industrial/business estates, with many residents commuting into Cambridge and the surrounding science and tech clusters. Community life revolves around a primary school, village hall and sports clubs, and the plentiful green spaces and recreation grounds give it a family‑orientated, community feel despite its relatively recent origins.
