Hayle West is the western portion of the town of Hayle in Cornwall, sitting beside the tidal Hayle Estuary and the western approaches to St Ives Bay. The ward takes in the old Hayle Harbour and nearby residential streets, where Victorian industrial remains and chimneys sit alongside sandy beaches and shifting dunes.
Once a hub for copper-smelting and engineering, the area still shows its industrial heritage in listed harbourside buildings while undergoing steady regeneration with small businesses, galleries and holiday accommodation alongside local services. The estuary is an important wildlife site popular with birdwatchers and walkers, and active community groups help balance tourism with everyday life for residents.
