Poundstock is an electoral ward in north Cornwall, a few miles inland from the Atlantic and the seaside town of Bude. The area mixes rolling farmland, small villages and hamlets with easy access to dramatic coastal scenery around Widemouth Bay, so it feels rural but benefits from nearby beaches and coastal walking.
The local economy is largely agricultural with a steady contribution from tourism, and the community centres on parish churches, village halls and a handful of pubs. Historic buildings - including a medieval parish church with interesting features - and a network of footpaths make it appealing to visitors seeking quieter Cornish countryside rather than the busier resorts.
