St. Agnes is a village and parish on the north coast of Cornwall, England, set among dramatic granite cliffs, heath and sandy coves such as Chapel Porth and Trevaunance Cove. The prominent rise of St Agnes Beacon overlooks the coast and the stretch of shoreline is bisected by the South West Coast Path, making it popular with walkers and surfers and offering striking coastal geology and sea views.
The settlement prospered in the 18th and 19th centuries from tin and copper mining and many engine houses and spoil heaps survive as industrial archaeology, forming part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape UNESCO site. Today St. Agnes combines a tourism-driven economy with local shops, cafés and a vibrant community scene - including arts events such as the Lafrowda Festival - while retaining strong links to farming, fishing and outdoor recreation.
