Mount Hawke is a small village in Cornwall, England, set on higher ground a short drive from the north Cornish coast between St Agnes and Perranporth. Its position gives open views towards the Atlantic and easy access to the South West Coast Path, making it popular with walkers and visitors who want a quieter base near Cornwall’s beaches and cliff scenery.
Like much of mid-Cornwall, Mount Hawke has roots in the 19th-century mining economy and retains a strong village feel with local shops, a pub and active community groups and sports clubs; there’s also a noticeable Methodist heritage in the chapel buildings. Today the local economy mixes agriculture and tourism with commuters travelling to nearby centres such as Truro, and community events and volunteer organisations remain important to village life.
