St. Blazey is a compact settlement in south Cornwall, sitting just inland from the harbour at Par and the mouth of the Fowey estuary. Its location makes it a convenient base for visiting the famous environmental gardens at the Eden Project and the rugged coastline and clay country that characterise this stretch of Cornwall.
Historically the area grew around mining and the china‑clay industry, with quays, viaducts and industrial remnants still visible in the landscape; shipping from nearby Par once carried the county’s mineral wealth abroad. Today the ward has a village feel with local pubs, clubs and community events, a mixture of light industry and commuters, and easy access to coastal walks and the wider St Austell and south‑Cornwall economy.
