The village and civil parish of St Ewe sits in mid-Cornwall, a few miles inland from the sheltered coves of the south coast and within easy reach of the Roseland Peninsula and coastal villages such as Mevagissey and Gorran Haven. Its landscape is characteristically Cornish - rolling farmland, winding lanes and scattered hamlets - and the parish church, dedicated to St Ewe and linked to the Breton saint Avoye, retains medieval foundations and other historic features that reflect the area's long rural past.
Economically the area remains largely agricultural, though proximity to St Austell and popular seaside spots means tourism, holiday accommodation and small local businesses also play a part. Socially it feels like a close-knit, traditional community with occasional village events and an understated charm that attracts walkers and visitors looking for a quieter base near the south Cornwall coast.
