Grampound with Creed is a small rural parish in mid-Cornwall, tucked into the valley of the River Fal roughly between Truro and St Austell. The compact settlement retains narrow streets, an old bridge and a cluster of stone houses that hint at its medieval market-town origins, while surrounding farmland and river meadows give plenty of easy walking and wildlife-watching opportunities.
Historically the main town in the parish was notorious in the early 19th century for electoral corruption and lost its parliamentary representation, but today the area is largely agricultural and residential, with a few local businesses, a village pub and an active community life centred on the village hall and church. Visitors and locals value the place for its quiet Cornish character, historic buildings and proximity to the Fal estuary and coastal attractions.
