Sticker is a small village in mid-Cornwall, a few miles west of St Austell, sitting on the edge of the low, boggy expanse of Goss Moor. Its rural setting gives easy access to moorland walking and, a short drive away, the high-profile visitor attraction the Eden Project, while lanes and hedgerows around the village keep a distinctly Cornish feel.
The community grew with the wider 19th‑century development of the St Austell area and the china‑clay industry, but today its economy is a mix of agriculture, local trades and people commuting into nearby towns, with tourism playing a part. Social life revolves around village groups and local events, and many of the buildings and landscape still reflect the traditional granite and cottage character of rural Cornwall.
