St. Minver Highlands sits on the north coast of Cornwall, overlooking the sheltered waters of the Camel Estuary and the open Atlantic beyond. The parish is a mix of rolling farmland, dune-backed beaches and rugged cliff paths, with popular coastal villages such as Rock and Polzeath nearby and the ferry-crossing and fishing port of Padstow visible across the water. Much of the landscape feels part of Cornwall’s coastal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a draw for walkers, sailors and surfers.
Historically it grew from small fishing and farming communities, and today the local economy is a balance of agriculture and a strong tourism and hospitality sector, with many holiday homes and seasonal visitors shaping the social scene. Community life still centres on village halls, pubs and local events, while conservation groups and small galleries reflect a strong local interest in protecting the landscape and celebrating Cornish culture.
