Treviscoe is a small village in mid-Cornwall, set in the former china‑clay country a few miles from the larger town of St Austell. The landscape around the village is marked by remnant workings, tips and pits from the 19th‑ and 20th‑century kaolin industry, giving a rugged, industrial character amid rolling moorland and hedged farmland.
Like many Cornish settlements its name begins with "Tre", reflecting the area's Celtic roots, and local life still bears a strong sense of community and Cornish identity. The local economy has long been tied to clay extraction and light industry, while today residents often mix work in nearby towns with agriculture, small local services and the seasonal uplift from Cornwall's visitor economy.
