Shipley is a civil parish in Amber Valley, Derbyshire, England, best known for Shipley Country Park - a former estate turned public park featuring lakes, mixed woodland and waymarked trails that follow the valley of the River Amber. The park is a local focus for walking, wildlife and family days out, and its landscape still hints at the designed parkland of the old estate.
The parish has historic links to Shipley Hall and to traditional agricultural and mining activity in the region; after industrial decline the area has become largely residential, with many people commuting to Derby and Nottingham. Today the local community combines village life with a small visitor economy centred on recreation, conservation and outdoor events in the country park.
