Heanor and Loscoe is a civil parish in the district of Amber Valley in Derbyshire, England, lying roughly eight miles north‑east of Derby and close to the Nottinghamshire border. The parish centres on the market town of Heanor and the smaller settlement of Loscoe, and sits in the gentle valley carved by the River Amber, with farmland and countryside rolling out from its urban edges.
Historically the area was shaped by coal mining and the textile trades, leaving a strong industrial heritage visible in terraces, former pit sites and local landmarks; today much of the parish is residential with pockets of light industry, active community facilities (notably Heanor Memorial Park and local sports clubs) and a growing commuter population travelling to Derby and Nottingham. Loscoe keeps more of a village feel and there are several reclaimed green spaces and walking routes that blend the parish’s industrial past with its rural fringe setting.
