Heanor is a small market town in Amber Valley, Derbyshire, England, sitting on the eastern edge of the Derbyshire Coalfield near the Erewash Valley and close to the Nottinghamshire border. It is within easy reach of the M1 and linked to nearby centres by the A610, so many residents commute into Derby and Nottingham while local shops and services still serve surrounding villages.
Heanor expanded in the 19th century with framework knitting and coal mining, and you can still see Victorian terraces and community landmarks such as Heanor Memorial Park and the traditional Heanor Market. Today the town blends that industrial heritage with light industry, grassroots sport - home to clubs like Heanor Town FC - and regular community events that give it a distinct local character.
