Windley is a small, largely rural civil parish in the borough of Amber Valley, Derbyshire, England, set on the fringes of the Derwent Valley. The landscape is characterised by rolling farmland, stone-built farmhouses and narrow lanes with views across the Derwent Valley, and it sits within easy reach of the towns of Belper, Duffield and Derby.
Historically the area has countryside and agricultural roots with buildings and field patterns reflecting centuries of local farming; there are a handful of listed buildings and quiet lanes popular with walkers. Today the community is small and peaceful, with much of its character shaped by farming and by residents who commute to nearby towns while enjoying a distinctly rural way of life.
