Little Hallam is a suburban electoral ward in the borough of Erewash, Derbyshire, England, lying on the eastern edge of Ilkeston. It is largely residential, with a mix of post‑war and more recent housing, local shops and schools, and pockets of open green space that give the area a village‑on‑the‑edge feel despite its close links to larger towns.
Historically the area grew out of farmland and small hamlets into a commuter suburb, and today many residents travel to nearby Derby and Nottingham for work; the local economy is therefore predominantly service and retail oriented. Community life is marked by neighbourhood groups, parish and borough council activity, and a steady pattern of modest regeneration rather than dramatic industrial change.
